2 Thessalonians 3:3-4 - Established for Safekeeping

Step 1: Pray. Select.

I start my prayer time thinking about how many times we believe Satan is attacking our plans when, in truth, God is forcing us to pivot towards Him, which may require traveling a new direction to cover a dream, thought, or idea he has placed inside you to birth and grow.

While change is necessary, it can be unnerving at times. Today, as I prayed for Holy Spirit to guide me through this time of change, I came across 2 Thesselonians 3:3-4.

I will begin my journey there and leave all preconceived notions of where I was traveling before, pack my bags, and explore this new place God is taking me. Leaving everything at the feet of Jesus.

Let's begin, friends!

Step 2: Write. Read. Circle

After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:

2 Thessalonians 3:3-4 - But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

Step 3: Re-Write

With a focus on the words I circled that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart.

  • Jennifer, the Lord shall establish you, keep you, touching you, ye both will do the things which we command you.

If you are doing this alongside me today, make sure you add your name in front of your unique sentence so the Lord can speak directly to you.

Step 4: Visualize

As I meditate on my sentence today, I see myself kneeling at an altar made of stone in medieval times. I am dressed in solid metal armor with a chain vest to cover my organs. I have a metal crown, so I am somewhat of a higher rank than the army I command.

I am humbly bowing my head as the presence of Jesus is in front of me, filling the room.

Light shines down on me, and if I dare look up, I know I would not be able to see anything but light because of the amount of glory exuding from Jesus. I see his feet before me, so I know he is standing there.

I had experienced a similar vision once before when I left an emotionally abusive relationship and told Jesus I would get in the boat he had waiting for me and never look back on the land he was rescuing me from. The agreement was that I had to leave without my belongings, and he promised me safe travels through the waterways he lay ahead of me to reach my next destination. He didn't fail me then, and I know he won't fail me now.

When he places his hand gently on my head as if anointing me, I begin to cry, realizing how powerful yet gentle his spirit is. He is tender and doesn’t want me to be afraid; he just wants me to trust that what he has ahead is better than anything I have seen.

This time, instead of my vision being on a shore kneeling in the sand, we are in a large, almost church-like room or King’s headquarters. This time he tells me there is no boat waiting since he never does the same thing twice. He always does new things; it is his nature. It also keeps me safe from the enemy tracking me. He needs me to go through him this time, and a doorway or passageway will reveal itself on the other side. I slowly stand up, still humbly facing the floor with my glance downward out of respect for his greatness, and he gently raises my head.

I can see his linen clothing, and as I get to his neckline, complete light engulfs me, taking over the atmosphere. Before you know it, I cannot see anything. I can’t even see where to travel or walk to look for a path, but I feel entirely safe in this place. I almost want to stay here, but the Holy Spirit reminds me that, as Christians, we are called to the Earth to work on behalf of the LORD. The harvest is plentiful, but there are few workers.

Since I am confused on what to do next, I move to Step 5 to ask the Holy Spirit a question.

Step 5: Ask. Seek

The question that came to mind is:

  • Holy Spirit, what do I do to find the path taking me to the next destination?

Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive

Here is the answer I received:

“While in this space, keep doing what you are doing. Jesus has plucked you out, put a dream in your heart, and is waiting for you to finish what he has started. At the right time, he will reveal the path. It will be obvious. He wants you to keep your eyes out for Him to guide you. Look for his hand, and hold it tight. You can lean on his firm grip as a covenant that he will deliver you in the right place at the right time. He has temporarily provided a covering to help mature and grow you and the seeds he gave you until you are strong enough to be revealed. There is greatness inside of you, but it must be nurtured and strengthened so that when you are in plain sight of the enemy, you will put on your full armor of God and know, without a doubt, that you are safe. What God has for you no man can take. Trust in his armor; he will provide a way to carry out your work until the day of Jesus on Earth. This is legacy work, so it will take time. But if you trust you are in the right season, he will provide good soil and protection and nurture you, preserving you for a time such as this. He is with you. He will deliver you from your enemies. He will prepare a table before them, where he will fill your cup until it overflows for them to witness and testify upon His behalf. He will take a sinner and make you a disciple. He will clothe you with riches covering the protective armor you are in now. This dress is heavy, so before you put on your Father’s clothes, learn to walk in his shoes a bit more. His steps are your steps. Stay in them, and you will prevail in due time.”

Step 7: Pray. Confirm

Today, I feel very loved at the thought of God touching me, and together, we will walk forward toward the harvest, shielding and strengthening me along the way.

Conclusion:

Friends, there is nothing to fear when working for the Kingdom. He is in control; we must just walk it out on his timing and footing.

Be strong and courageous, and look for the touch of Jesus. He is everywhere and anywhere. Ask Him to reveal where you need to be humbled so he can cover you in your weakness, and in Him, we will be made strong.

I am thankful for having such a good Father to guide all of us today.

Take his light and move through him, for he is the way, the truth, and the light.

God bless you all. Take care of your dreams, take care of your visions, and most of all take care of yourselves today! You are valuable and carrying something that is bigger and more important than you know, according to Jesus.

See you soon!
