Numbers 6:24-26 - Praise Your Path To Peace
Step 1: Pray. Select.
As I began my prayer this morning, I could not get the song "The Blessing" out of my head, which repeatedly recites the words in Numbers 6:24-26. It was all I could think about. I decided to dive right in and get started.
We will begin our journey here today, friends.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Numbers 6: 24-26 - “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words I circled that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart.
Jennifer, the LORD keep you; turn his face toward you and give you peace.
If you are doing this alongside me today, make sure you add your name in front of your unique sentence so the Lord can speak directly to you.
Step 4: Visualize
I imagine myself in a place full of light and beautiful low-lying clouds. I am on my knees with my head bowed low. My arms are stretched out to the side, and my hands are held with palms up as if to say, “Here I am, LORD. I am humbly your servant. Use me.”
I can hear the song continue to repeat over and over. I don’t know how long I have been sitting here on the floor worshipping. However, that doesn’t matter. Nothing matters more than this moment between me and God. I am begging for Him to turn his face toward me to see how much I long for His presence. I only want to live for him and his purpose.
As I sway as if rocking myself into peace, He tells me he is with me. I don’t need to look up because I can feel him and he can feel me. The warmth of his love is all around, and his powerful attention burns through my soul. He is mirroring my desire to be with Him. Or maybe it is the other way around. He is the creator, so I am actually mirroring him and His desire for me.
This is how he calls me, even when I am not looking or can’t hear him. He is calling and calling, like the song repeating, with his words, singing to come to him so he can give me peace and we can be close together.
He tells me I must eventually take this understanding of him calling us, singing to us, and his attention for each of us and share it with others so they can see how we are made in his image when we long for Him. This is when we are most like Him. Through taking this feeling of his longing with me wherever I go, I will shine through with his peace and love and answer to all who ask, “How do you have peace?” I will tell everyone His presence and peace are one. They are the same. Get in his presence, and there you will have peace. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. So let the Holy Spirit take over and sing his praise and glory as long as it takes until you are dripping and covered with his peace.
I don’t have a lot of questions about what the Holy Spirit has given me this morning, but I do have one. I move to STEP 5.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The question that came to mind is:
Holy Spirit, is there something I can do more of to let God know I see him and how he longs for me?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
Here is the answer I received:
“You can stop reacting to situations or circumstances since these are all temporary things. You must praise through all trials and tribulations. You must open your mouth and sing again. Sing like you used to; like a child to her Father. He will find you there. He will give you the clarity you need to take your next steps. In this childlike worship you reach and break chains within this atmosphere. Your peace is reached through your worship. The angels will back you. They have been waiting to sing with you. The rest of life's demands, you can rest upon Him, and he will not fail you.”
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
So simple, yet so important. Worship from a place of peace like when you were a child. It reminds me of the popular phrase, “Dance like no one is watching.” I guess I need to sing like no one is watching.
Heavenly Father, let me put away judgment and sing like I used to before life took away my song. Let me go back to a place where I could open the windows of heaven through worship. In this you will shine upon me and be gracious over me.
Thank you for allowing me to see how you long for me in a reflection of how I long for you.
Thank you for being a kind, loving, and good Father. I seal this time and revelation and cover it with the precious blood of your son Jesus - Amen!

Conclusion:
Well, friends, it is as simple as that. Worship your heart out for him since he is doing the same to reach you.
Let our voices lift up to sing his praises for all his goodness.
Let us not be ashamed of the sound that comes out of our mouths and continue to grow in strength through shedding fear of the sound we make for the LORD.
Happy singing, friends! Let's break these chains.
God bless you and keep you. See you soon.
