Luke 16:10 - It’s Harvest Time
Step 1: Pray. Select.
This morning, I sit here thinking about the places we go in life, and how God can always see the results of an encounter, environment, and even relationship years before they produce fruit.
The question I want to ask during my prayer time today is: Are we prepared when the harvest comes?
As I searched for scripture on handling an abundance of blessings in a godly way, I came across Luke 16:10.
Let’s begin our journey there today, friends.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Luke 16:10 - He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words I circled that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart.
Jennifer, he who is faithful in what is least is faithful.
If you are doing this alongside me today, make sure you add your name in front of your unique sentence so the Lord can speak directly to you.
Step 4: Visualize
When I ponder the sentence, I realize how important it is to be faithful over a little. If we develop habits that align with God’s order and structure, we will not be swayed by the way of the manna when blessed with an abundance of overflow during harvest season.
I picture myself, with no care in the world, sitting in my current home. I look the same; I am no more than a year or two older than I am now. I sit at the same table I sit now, continuing to write and glorify the Lord. However, something is different about me. The Holy Spirit shows me what it might look like to have total freedom and peace, knowing the LORD has provided more in my life than I could have imagined.
The interesting thing about this vision is that it doesn’t look much different from where I am right now. The word he wants me to focus on is complete and total freedom. My peace and happiness are resting upon the LORD entirely.
The Holy Spirit is telling me that I can have this now! He tells me to make habits that glorify the LORD, move when he tells me to move, stay still when he asks, and speak what he wants me to say.
Surrender to Him, who gives me everything, and I will never be without all my needs being met.
A question arises I want to ask the Holy Spirit, so I move to Step 5.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The requests/questions that came to mind are:
Holy Spirit, wherever you are taking me next, I am ready and not afraid. If I move in any direction you deem necessary, you will meet me there to guide me, just like you are doing today. What is my assignment for today while waiting?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
Here is the answer I received:
“I gave you a glimpse this morning. The harvest is coming. Be still and know I AM God. In the meantime, I have sent you wise counsel in your husband, who is asking you to re-evaluate your ideas of success, adjust them, and ensure you never lose sight of the LORD. You prayed for a praying husband, and I delivered. You prayed for children, and I delivered them to you through your husband. You prayed for direction, and I am delivering your next season and direction soon. Write down my statutes and keep them with you along the way. You have invested in this harvest over years and years of sacrifice, tears, and pain. And through that, I was birthing something new. I am doing a new thing; see how it springs up. Your ways are not my ways, but I am turning all things for the greater good of those who love the LORD. Be strong and courageous. The promised land awaits; however, when the promise arrives, open it with excitement and know you have done the work and are ready to carry the mantle. He is with you; you will testify to his goodness through all you encounter. It is no longer either, or, in your life, but a Yes and AMEN!”
