2 Chronicles 15:7 - Strong Hands Great Rewards

Step 1: Pray. Select.

I awoke before dawn this morning alongside my husband, who is currently working the early shift.

There is something so peaceful about the stillness of the world right before sunrise. As I snuggled into a favorite blanket on my trusty oversized reading chair, I felt slightly fatigued over some physical labor I had been doing for the past month, which finally ended yesterday. I wondered why we are called to certain laborious acts late in life when we think we lack the physical strength to complete the task at hand.

With my hand aching from lifting, I prayed for my verse of the day and was immediately taken to 2 Chronicles 15:7.

This is where my prayer journey began for the day, friends.

Step 2: Write. Read. Circle

2 Chronicles 15:7 - But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!

After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:

  • Do Not Let Your Hands Be Weak

  • Your Work Shall Be Rewarded

Step 3: Re-Write

With a focus on the words that stood out, here is the personalized sentence placed upon my heart. Don't forget, if you are doing this alongside me today, to add your name to your unique sentence:

  • Jennifer, do not let your hands be weak, your work shall be rewarded.

Step 4: Visualize

As I close my eyes and think of the words, I am led to focus on palm branches. I wonder what palm branches have to do with the passage I am reading today? It felt somewhat random; however, the Holy Spirit is never random and always intentional.

Holy Spirit led me to the Gospel of John 12:13 - took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: "Hosanna! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' The King of Israel!", and the significance

I was prompted to look up the meaning of Palms in relation to this context. I found that in Jewish culture, people lay palms down as a symbol of victory and peace. Wow! How prophetic! The people acknowledged Jesus's power as a King before his death and resurrection.

Holy Spirit wants me to understand that through labor, or at times when we feel like we can't go any further in our jobs, taking care of family, giving time to friends, or any other task or responsibility carefully placed within our hands to steward by God, if God put it in front of you, you can rest assured he has already claimed the victory. You will, and can, see it through.

Jesus's crucifixion and most grueling work still lay ahead after he rode the donkey into town at this point, and people celebrated, claiming him as the Messiah. This was similar to David being anointed with the oil flowing over his head in front of his entire family, knowing he would become a King, then being sent back to the field to shovel sheep dung. I sense a pattern here.

Holy Spirit is telling me that whatever work you are doing, do not give into the flesh or a fleshly mindset. There is a reward for your faithfulness and obedience on the other side. There is no room for fear, doubt, or hesitation, allowing space for the enemy's lies in your situation. If you do your Father's will and obey His word, there is a reward, so count on God to deliver on his promise.

A question arises I need to ask the Holy Spirit. So, I continue to Step 5.

Step 5: Ask. Seek

The words that came to mind were:

  • Holy Spirit, how do I know if I am doing the work of my Father when I am met with opposition?

Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive

Here is the answer I received:

"You will know you are doing your Father's work when you are in peace while you are doing it. When something drives you beyond your capacity, and even in the storm, you have clarity; this is when you know you align with His will. Think of your life, the moments God sparked something inside you. Once you moved towards the thought, goal, or aspiration, the spark ignited like wildfire through your obedience to get closer to what He spoke without knowing the outcome. You cannot get into Heaven through your works, but rather your obedience. If you are simultaneously passionate and at peace when activating on behalf of what you hear, even if it doesn't make sense, you are in the flow of his living water, creating a river to carry you through. You will feel joy amid hardship. Peace amid adversity. Supernatural power to overcome all things. You feel passion even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else. Joy overflows. You feel close to your creator, your Father. You are after His heart as He is after yours. There is an unspoken synergy you want to hold onto and never let go. The anointing oil begins to bleed into all areas of your life, making room for the blessing you carry with you. You will learn that the work of the Father is not work at all but rather a blessing. When you find yourself in this place, more often than not, you can keep going because the river will eventually flow into the promised land. It knows no other destination."

Step 7: Pray. Confirm

Heavenly Father, thank you for your gentle revelation that you will deliver on all promises no matter what I encounter on my journey. Thank you for helping me to identify when I am in flow with my Father's will. I will hold on tight to the blessing as you allow everything to flow downstream, including all my additional responsibilities, with ease, towards my promised land filled with milk and honey where I will thirst and hunger no more.

In the precious name of Jesus, I seal this prayer with the blood - Amen!

Conclusion:

Today, I am beyond grateful for the Holy Spirit's wisdom in helping me identify when I am in flow with the Father's will.

The biggest key I am holding onto is that he will make room for the blessing no matter how busy or challenging life can seem.

Friends, let's allow God to carry our responsibilities downstream so we can hold on tight to his promises, which are a 'Yes' and 'Amen'!

Have an anointed day!
