Revelation 22:7 - Keeping Prophecy
Step 1: Pray. Select.
Lately, I have been having multiple conversations about angels and messengers, so today, I started by asking the Holy Spirit to guide me to scriptures about prophecy.
As I read through Daniel, which I found intriguing, the Holy Spirit did not confirm where I needed to land. As I kept researching, I was led to Revelation, and immediately, my spirit began to leap.
This is where I began my practice today as I landed on Revelation 22:7.
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
Revelation 22:7 - “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
“After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
Behold
I Am Coming Quickly
Keep The Words Of The Prophecy Of This Book
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words that stood out, here is the personalized sentence placed upon my heart. Don't forget, if you are doing this alongside me today, to add your name to your unique sentence:
Jennifer, behold, I am coming quickly. Keep the words of prophecy of this book.
Step 4: Visualize
As I close my eyes, and after reading the entire Chapter 22 earlier, coupled with the scripture and my personalized sentence, I am taken back to my special oasis in the desert in my mind. For those unfamiliar with my blog on Isaiah 43:18-19 - Spring Forth, Rivers In A Desert, you may want to reference it to better understand the visuals I see in my mind. It will provide more context, as I had a very intimate experience using this practice years ago.
I am happy to be taken back to this safe place today. It brings warmth to my heart and a smile to my face. The air is a similar, if not perfect, match to my body temperature, allowing me to feel in perfect harmony with the atmosphere around me. A very slight, cool breeze is passing by every once in a while. It gently caresses my skin to remind me I am loved and cared for in this place.
As I stand with the moist grass beneath my bare feet across the pond, staring at the lush majestic tree across the way. I am reminded of how stable and immovable my special tree is. The trunk is firmly rooted in the ground, yet some of the thin branches with new leaves that extend from the top sway with the breeze, making a soft wooshing sound like rushing water. The pond water remains unaffected completely still.
As I stand there, taking in the environment, the words “He is coming quickly” repeat as an excited whisper telling me the good news. Holy Spirit is daring me to look at this verse not from a perspective of fear, anxiety, or condemnation but as a blessing. This is not doomsday; it is a celebration.
The chapter states that everyone is to keep doing exactly what they are doing, being exactly as they are now. Good or bad, whatever that is, for he already knows everything. He is a God of his word and fulfills his promises. There is no confusion. There is no chaos. He is coming and keeping his word to save us with his grace.
While waiting for his return, he asks us to do one thing. Not to change or be better, but to keep his words close to us, for they are sacred. When he comes, will we recognize him? The only way to do that is to know him. If you don't know Him, read his word, and he will tell you everything you need to know. He is an open book. He opened and offered the open door of the Bible and scripture, which no man can shut. His word will stand forever until the day of Jesus.
So, friends, don't worry about changing or hiding who you currently are; while we await the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus coming, why not spend a little time with his word so we can know him since he already knows everything about you?
I have my question for the Holy Spirit. So, I continue to Step 5.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The words that came to mind were:
Holy Spirit, How can we create a rejoicing, welcoming attitude of the coming of the LORD instead of a doomsday, fear, and chaos?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
Here is the answer I received:
"My sheep know my voice. Again, I repeat from before, condemnation is not of me but of my enemy. I came to give you life and life more abundantly. I come to guide you and help you. I come to carry you and your burdens. If you are close to me, you will not be afraid. You will walk in confidence I am with you. So when you read my word, I say to you truly, Hear my voice. Your thoughts are not my thoughts, nor your ways my ways. Hold tight to what I have revealed to you through my word. Do you know the answer to the question when reading? It is Yes, and Amen! to everything written.”
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit as your prophetic messenger, always providing a fresh and joyous perspective when the world offers fear and condemnation. I am so happy to stay close to your word and allow your statutes within the word to continue to grow me in love and compassion for my environment, no matter what surrounds me. Thank you for dying so I may have life and life more abundantly. Help me to believe in your promises as I continue to practice deeper belief and understanding beyond what the eyes can see, which is contradictory to this world in this current state.
I lift you up and glorify you today. I thank you for coming down to meet me whenever I call and for constantly caring for me in my times of need throughout the day. I praise you and your son, Jesus, for the sacrifices you have made and continue to make on my behalf.
I love you! In Jesus Holy Name, I seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus - AMEN!

Conclusion:
Today, let’s be excited by the news that the second coming will happen swiftly. In the waiting, we can continue our walks to get to know our Father more intimately.
We are safe with him and his promises and should feel we are enough exactly as we are.
Let’s be thankful he is an open book, saying, "Here I am!" Let’s aspire to continue to do the same, following his example, coming to our Father exposed so he can make us new, covering us as he did Adam and Eve, knowing through his grace he offers redemption.
Have a joyous and celebratory day, friends! See you soon!
