Numbers 8:11 - Wave Offering

Step 1: Pray. Select.

Today, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a table in a dead forest from yesterday.

As I continued to stand upon the edge of the tree line, waiting to be let in, the Holy Spirit had more to teach me before entering this place to dine with the LORD. As I remembered the flickering candle on the table for two I had seen in my vision yesterday, the words light and Moses came to mind as I began to pray.

I looked up verses that mention both, and I was led to Numbers 8, when the LORD spoke to Moses about setting up the seven lampstands and purifying the Levites, offering a wave offering so they would be set apart from the Israelites and become the LORD’s.

This is where we will begin our journey today, friends.

Step 2: Write. Read. Circle

Numbers 8:11 - “and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord like a wave offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the work of the LORD.”

After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:

  • Offer A Wave Offering

  • That May Perform The Work Of The LORD.

Step 3: Re-Write

With a focus on the words that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive. It is simple and sweet. Don’t forget, if you are doing this alongside me today, to add your name to your unique sentence:

  • Jennifer, offer a wave offering that may perform the work of the LORD.

Step 4: Visualize

The wave offering stuck out immensely as I meditated longer on my sentence for the day.

I began to envision myself standing at the tree line again, and bam, it hit me! The Holy Spirit tells me I must present a wave offering before entering the tent to dine with the LORD. Truthfully, I am not sure what I should offer. I have laid many things at the altar and feel I am doing a good job of surrendering and humbling my nature. I am far from perfect, but getting better and stronger in my walk every day. But he is telling me there is something more I must confess out of my mouth so I can walk into this forest where Jesus is waiting to converse.

As I sit here, taking this very seriously, I am unsure what to offer. I didn’t want to make up something, so I sat and waited. Was it my patience? Was it my mind? Was it my fear? What???

Then, out of nowhere, the thought that came to mind - I need to give him my life. I need to give him everything. All that I am. This is my wave offering.

“I give you my life, LORD,” I say aloud, professing my sacrifice, waving the sound of the words in the atmosphere as they exited my mouth. I say it two more times, “I give you my life, LORD. I give you my life, LORD.”

After I land on this revelation of what God is asking for from me, the Holy Spirit immediately reminds me of Matthew 16:24-27:

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

My life is the entry fee to dine in his presence—the price for the seat at the table. My life in full is the living sacrifice I am waving, and I know through his word in Numbers, he will return what I wave up in the air, and I will wholly be his. I will do His work for the rest of my life.

I can now walk into the forest to hear what he says next. It is time for me to ask a question.

Step 5: Ask. Seek

The words that came to mind were:

  • Holy Spirit, as I take these steps towards the dining table, what is the work you speak of in the tent?

Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive

Here is the answer I received:

“The key word here is tent. God provides a place for you and him, but you must go there regularly, and it may shift for now. Your meeting location is not permanent yet, so just as Moses had to move until he built the Tabernacle, you may have to move to different locations and, through various circumstances, will eventually land in the promised land—a land overflowing with milk and honey. The key is not to get discouraged or dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you. Trust me, just as you arrived at this meeting place and heard him knocking, this is the first of many encounters with the LORD you will experience. Take hold of Jesus, and walk closely by his side, for he will show you the way. His sheep know his voice.”

Step 7: Pray. Confirm

Holy Spirit, help me stay patient as I walk to the table to dine with Jesus. Help me recognize when he moves so I can follow him closer than ever and without question.

I pray that the tent be filled with the cloud of glory as you take me from glory to glory safely.

Thank you for your protection and love as I travel through life. I give my life to you. I know I have said this before, but if I need to reaffirm my commitment, I will do it over and over as many times as necessary to ensure you know my adoring love for you as my Father until the day of Christ Jesus here on earth.

I lift this prayer up to you in heavenly places and ask for a speedy delivery to your ear so that you may know I am seeking more and want to be closer to you.

In Jesus’s mighty name, I seal this prayer with the precious blood of your son Jesus- Amen!

Conclusion:

Today, I give my whole life to the LORD so I can be a sacrifice waved and returned to be wholly his.

I am thankful he clarified that this is a journey and that he has always made a place to meet me whenever I need him.

Thank you for letting me get this close to you, LORD, and for carrying me from Glory to Glory.

It’s going to be a fantastic journey today, friends. Let’s get ready for the miraculous!

See you soon!
