Numbers 18:20 - Your Inheritance
Step 1: Pray. Select.
Today, my verse came out of a more profound study I have been active in within my women’s life group from church.
As I opened chapter 18 in Numbers during my study time, this particular verse seemed to leap off the pages of my Bible as if begging to be noticed. The scripture I will be praying through today is Numbers 18:20.
Let’s begin our journey, friends!
Step 2: Write. Read. Circle
Numbers 18:20 - The Lord said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.
After reading the scripture three times, the following words stood out amongst the others:
No Inheritance In Their Land
Nor
Any Share
I Am Your Inheritance
Step 3: Re-Write
With a focus on the words that stood out, here is the personalized sentence that came alive in my heart. Don't forget, if you are doing this alongside me today, make sure to add your name to your unique sentence:
Jennifer, no inheritance in their land nor any share; I am your inheritance.
Step 4: Visualize
As I meditate on the Holy Spirit's sentence of the day, I realize how clear and concise the LORD is when speaking. I need to stop and pay more attention when he commands in his words.
Sometimes, as I read the fine details displayed in the rituals of the Bible, such as this one from chapter 18, with precise instructions for Aaron and his sons, I understand in more depth that there is truly nothing on earth comparable to the provision of the LORD. His way is perfect.
More specifically, the Holy Spirit asks me to put aside all the items I may be focusing on in my life and realize that by focusing on Him, I will know exactly what to do at any given time. I will be rich in peace and security since He is always looking out for me and my portion of His finest. The question is, can I do the same for Him in return?
In a non-romantic sense, the words "unrequited love" come to mind. God is waiting for me to turn around, come to my senses, and know He is the answer to all my needs. He is all I need to hunger for. Let me not waste a moment focusing on my goals for the future or my expected outcomes, especially since God already knows my desires. Instead, let me take today to find joy in the present in His presence.
I have a question, so I move to Step 5.
Step 5: Ask. Seek
The question that came to mind is:
Holy Spirit, I sit here thinking of so many special people in my life, and how we all want to live life and life more abundantly, according to your word. What does life abundantly mean according to you?
Step 6: Hear. Write. Receive
Here is the answer I received:
“Remember, I am a God of order. If you pray for more of me, I can take care of rest. If you understand everything is mine, then the things I create cannot fulfill you as I can. What you make complicated, which comes from a place I do not dwell, is made clear through Christ Jesus. He did not pay attention when tempted by the snake, unlike Eve. He sought more of me. This is the way, the truth, and the light. He was, is, and will always be the light of the world. The lamp to your feet. Hear me when I say to you, if you come to me through his ways, his teachings, his death and resurrection, which are my ways, you will always have an open door with a path ahead to follow me. I will be everything you need. I will create a way where there is no way. I will give you a life abundantly where you will never thirst or hunger again.”
Step 7: Pray. Confirm
Heavenly Father - I come to you through your son Jesus.
Help me consistently be open to receiving all you have for me and not being disturbed by any other source.
Let me be hungry for you and the eternal things you will provide for my every need here on earth. Like Aaron, let me trust while I serve you, that you have already set aside my portion so I lack nothing.
Help me find comfort in a world of uncertainty since anything uncertain is not of you. Help me find you through everything I encounter. As my doorway to your path, you are constant. Let me keep my eyes on things consistent with your nature, no matter where I go or what I do.
I praise you for being the great I AM that only you are.
I seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus - Amen!

Conclusion:
Friends, remember how God longs for us to long for him.
Let’s turn from the selfish or surface desires and desire Him and his presence more.
Let’s remember Jesus's ways just a little bit more, and if we don’t know enough, let's study his ways through his words.
I am full of gratitude as I write today. I pray you feel loved everywhere you go today!
God bless, and see you soon.
